Objective: Leverage multiple data sources and data science tools to build patient-centered technologies that improve pregnancy care.

About Us: Delfina provides a leading pregnancy care data platform to improve maternal and child health outcomes.

About You: Our Senior Data Scientist will work directly with the Chief Scientific Officer to design research studies to evaluate our pregnancy care platform. We are looking for someone who is excited to work with complex datasets, collaborate with external research partners, and thrives in a fast-paced startup environment.

Responsibilities: 

  • Lead research studies using perinatal health data to evaluate Delfina Care
  • Design research studies that evaluate new technologies for use in product
  • Lead dissemination of research results through conferences, publications, and white papers
  • Identify funding mechanisms to support large-scale evaluation of Delfina Care
  • Engage with research partners to design and execute research studies

Qualifications: 

  • One of the following education/experience combinations:
    • 5 years work experience, OR 
    • Master’s degree in biostatistics, epidemiology, health data science, or health-related field with 3+ years of relevant work or research experience in relevant health-related field, OR
    • Doctoral degree in biostatistics, epidemiology, health data science, or health-related field with 1+ years work experience
  • As well as the following requirements: some text
    • Expertise in impact evaluation techniques, including quasi-experimental designs and implementation science frameworks
    • Experience conducting statistical analyses using electronic health data
    • Proficiency in SQL and Python

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with perinatal health data arising from electronic health record or claims databases
  • Experience designing and analyzing User Experience studies among patients or healthcare providers
  • Experience presenting at national scientific conferences
  • 1+ peer-reviewed publication in medical or public health journal

Compensation: $150K-180K annually. The base salary range for this full-time position in the United States represents a wide variety of factors, including location, skills, experience, education, and training. New hires who meet most of the qualifications above should expect to earn near the middle of the posted salary range.
