Objective: Leverage multiple data sources and data science tools to build patient-centered technologies that improve pregnancy care.

About Us: Delfina provides a leading pregnancy care data platform to improve maternal and child health outcomes.

About You: As a Senior Data Scientist at Delfina, you will work closely with engineering, product, and clinical teams to build technologies that measurably improve pregnancy outcomes and support  care providers. We are looking for someone who is excited to lead complex data projects, work with multiple data sources, implement cutting-edge data science tools, and collaborate across engineering, product, and clinical teams.

Responsibilities:

Core responsibilities of Senior Delfina Data Scientists are: 

  • Lead statistical analyses using multiple data assets
  • Ensure high standards for data accuracy and reliability 
  • Scope new data-driven product features that will improve patient care 

At this time, we are specifically looking for Senior Data Scientists in two central areas: 

  1. Algorithms
    • Develop and refinement of clinical prediction models 
    • Implement model monitoring and validation plans to ensure machine learning models are performing as expected
    • Scale existing data intake processes needed for model deployment and monitoring in collaboration with our engineering team
  1. Analytics
    • Develop insightful data dashboards to communicate key metrics ranging from patient satisfaction to provider efficiency
    • Analyze drivers of patient and provider engagement with the Delfina Care to inform clinical product decisions
    • Drive Delfina Care's growth through data-driven communications with external partners 

Qualifications: 

One of the following education/experience combinations: 

  • 5+ years of work experience in related field, OR
  • Master’s degree in computer science, data science, statistics, or other related field with 3+ years of relevant work, OR 
  • Doctoral degree in computer science, data science, statistics, or other related field with 2+ years of relevant work

As well as the following requirements:

  • Proficiency in SQL and Python
  • Familiarity with version control systems (git and GitHub)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with cloud-based computing platforms (e.g. Google Cloud Platform)
  • Experience writing production-quality code and an understanding of software best practices 

In addition, the following preferred qualifications for our two areas of interest:

  1. Algorithms
    • Experience working with EHR data, with knowledge of FHIR standard
    • Experience deploying clinical prediction models in practice
  1. Analytics
    • Proficiency SQLAlchemy

Compensation: $170,000 - $205,000 per year

The base salary range for this full-time position in the United States represents a wide variety of factors, including location, skills, experience, education, and training. New hires who meet most of the qualifications above should expect to earn near the middle of the posted salary range.
