Laura was born in León, Guanajuato in México, and she immigrated to the United States when she was a child. Her hometown since then has been Redwood City, at the heart of Silicon Valley.
She had her first tech internship at seventeen and since then, has worked in small startups and big tech companies alike. In 2014, she founded her own startup, Atipica and raised the largest seed round by a Latina solo founder at that time.
She is passionate about Delfina because she has seen firsthand the suffering of babies in underrepresented women and their communities. Plus the team is awesome.
Laura loves to cook, hike, read, and play with her dogs, Coco, whom she named after the Pixar movie (representation matters!) and Cosme, whom she named after her favorite band’s vocalist Café Tacvba. She also has a cat, Milky, but he doesn’t like to hang out with her, or anyone else, that much.Back
